How to... 

• Cut Bronze card 29.5cm by 21cm and score this at 4,14,18 and 28cm the extra bit is the flap to stick it together.
• Score the shorted side at 2cm (this is the bottom of the box) 
• Using tonic layering dies Oval and Circles - die cut- (Sizes count from the smallest die out)
• 2 x Eyes from White Ice Card, size 1, circle die
• 2 x Cheeks from Bronze Card, size 2, circle die
• 1 x Head from Bronze Card, size 9, circle die
• 2 x Ears from Bronze Card, size 6, oval die
• 2 x Inner Ear from Misty Rose Card, size 3, oval die
• 2 x Feet from Bronze Card, size 4, oval die
• 2 x Inner feet, from Oyster Shell Cream Card, Size 3, oval die
• 1 x Tail, from Bronze Card, size 6, oval die
• 1 x Inner Tail from Oyster Shell Cream Card, size 4, oval die
• 2 x Hands (paws) from Bronze Card, size 4, oval die
• 1 x Nose from White Ice Card, size 1, circle die.
• 1 x Teeth from White Ice Card, Heart Punch

• Die Cut a hole in the front panel for the window, Using the Ultra Clear Tape, stick a rectangle of Extra Thick Acetate behind. Everything else is layered up with 2mm foam pads.
• Fold the edges of the card in to create your basic box and stick together with Ultra Clear Tape.
• Hole punch the card at the top to be able to thread the ribbon before attaching the head.
• Cut whiskers from the White Ice Card and stick to the head using the 2 in 1 Glue Pen along with the eyes, nose, cheeks and teeth to the head.
• Using the Foam Pads later up and attach the ears to the head and then the head to the body.
• Layer up the feed and tail with the Foam Pads and again using the Foam Pads attach this to the body. 
• Attach the paws with Foam Pads
• Use the ribbon to give Benny a bow 
• Fill your box and tie the bow

I Love You More Mother's Day Card

Wonderful flower card with a difference for this Mother's Day.

Things you will Need:

Instructions:

Cut the Pearlescent Card to 198mm x 210mm and fold in half.

 Cut the Gingham card into two pieces one to  99mm x 65mm and the other 99mm x 15mm.

 Measure 5mm from the top of the card with the Layer Perfect and attach the large piece of Gingham card using the Tape Runner.

Then attach the smallest piece of Gingham card 5mm from the bottom again using the Tape Runner.

Stamp the image with black ink in the middle of your white card then colour with your chosen shades of markers.

Once dry cut to 75mm x 175mm using the Layer Perfect and cover with the Sparkly Acetate. Again use the Layer Perfect to trim off the edges.

Attach your image onto the A4 Foam Sheets and trim the edges to make the full image stand out.

Using the Layer Perfect to get an even border and attach your image to the card.

Stamp the greeting onto a scrap of white card then create a circle with the punch.

Attach this over the leaves using smaller foam Pads.

Finally drag the swimming pool ink pad over the edges of the card, topper, gingham card and greeting to highlight.

Non Slip Grip

The Non Slip Grip comes in an A4 sheet format then can be cut to the size required.

Attach to the base of the Stix2 Layer Perfect, rulers or even quilter's and draughtsmen's tools to stop them from slipping and moving about when drawing lines, creating tailors markings or when cutting material, paper and card etc.

Simply cut to size, place on the back of the tool and press down firmly which creates a perfect seal but can be taken off if desired.

The Non Slip Grip is Clear so will no hinder clear tools, such as the Layer Perfect,  in any way and is removable and reusable.

Customer Review Extra Thick Acetate

Sam Packer from D4Daisy  and Workshop on the Web ... A lovely and loyal Stix2 Customer has kindly written a product review on our Clear Extra Thick Acetate. This is what she had to say...

Stix2 Extra Thick Acetate Sheets

These Acetate Sheets come in a heavier weight of 300 microns and a great for a number of uses. With the Vitrail paints, the surface worked very well, and particularly if you don’t feel you have a use for the paints with glass, this is a solid alternative.

The strength of the sheet makes is ideal for cutting out shapes and creating stencils on the die-cutter. I have cut thinner acetate sheets before and found them too flimsy to place and easily bent, particularly where there were delicate designs.

These thicker sheets are much easier to handle. I also found it easy to cut with a blade for simple handmade stencils. This provided me with a leaf-shaped stencil, several masks from the cut-out shapes, and also some curved edge masks which are good for printing.

I used these on the Gelli plate with the Pebeo Studio Acrylics.

Since writing this review Sam has also kindly informed up that Stix2 Extra Thick Acetate is also good for crochet edging and kindly sent us this image via her WorkShop on the Web. Its great to see our products being used in different ways and this is a perfect example.

Textured Rudolph Fridge Magnet

This is a fun and fantastic fridge magnet which spreads the Christmas joy into your kitchen. Perfect for a crafty gift on a budget.

Instructions:

Throughout the process, have the crafting sheet underneath to protect your surface.

Cut a 105mm x 150mm square from the cardboard sheet and cover the grey side with double double sided polyester sheet.

Using the Die Cutting machine place the reindeer in the centre of your cardboard sheet, polyester side up. Once this is cut, peel off the backing sheets around the reindeer leaving Rudolph covered.

Using the foils (dull side down) and the lid from the embossing pot, add large circles to the adhesive sheets. Do this again with the glitter pot lids to add small circles. Mix the silver and gold foils with the sizes randomly on the project.

Holding the glitter tube in one hand place the small circles created with the foils over the top and tip upside down to add glitter to the middle of the circles. Hold this firmly in place as to not add glitter to the rest of the exposed adhesive sheet. Turn back so that the remaining glitter falls back in the tube and repeat on the other circles.

Using the embossing powder repeat the above step with the larger circles. Sprinkle some extra chunky white embossing power randomly over the adhesive sheet and head on a low setting to melt the embossing powder.

Dust the remaining exposed adhesive with moonstone mica powder.

Drag some blue ink along the edges and randomly over the image to colour some of the raised white powder. Do the same with the vintage sepia ink along the edges and create lines by using the edge of the ink pad.

Stick another sheet of heat resistant adhesive onto the back of the cardboard. Peel off and attach your chosen 6" x 6" paper, white side attached to the adhesive to have a pattern for the back of your magnet. Trim off the excess paper.

Peel of the cover for the reindeer and fill  with clear plastic beads gently pushing the beads into place. After this fill the gaps with iridescent glitter.

Finally peel off the adhesive back to the magnets placing one in each corner.

Sparkly Pumpkin

Want to add a bit of bling to your Halloween? Why not make these glittery pumpkins to sparkle and shine at any party.

Thing  you Will Need: 

Orange Stardust Card
Bottle Green Stardust Card

2 Brads or Split Pins
Optional Leaf Die Cut Scissors
Paper Trimmer Scissors
Pokey Tool
Piercing Mat

Instructions:

You will need minimum 8 strips of paper, cutting them four 1” and four 1/2”. When stacking mix it up for different effects.

 With a holly leaf die and the green glitter card, cut some pumpkin leaves for decoration. If you do not have a die cutter simply cut leave shapes using scissors.

Using your pokey tool and a piercing mat, make holes in each end of the strips of card and onto the base of each  leaf.

Line up the paper strips and insert a brad or split pin. Do the same to the other end, remembering to add the leaves to the top. Close the brads and fan out the pumpkin.

You can make these a hanging decoration by adding Raffia.

Autumn Craft Hobby + Stitch Show
